Does your dog have any special needs?, Zoodles is currently decompressing from a very unique situation and is taking a little extra time to adjust. He arrived in foster care feeling very stressed, anxious, and exhausted from his journey, but he is making steady progress every day. His foster is gently helping him gain confidence in the outdoors, which can feel overwhelming for him right now. Noises, cars, children playing, and even the open space of a large yard can be intimidating. Zoodles will need a patient and understanding adopter who will allow him to move at his own pace. With time, consistency, and reassurance, he is expected to continue building confidence and learn that the world outside is a safe place to explore.  

Does your dog display any aggression (toys, food, people)?, While adjusting to his new environment, Zoodles has shown early signs of resource guarding people. Resource guarding a person occurs when a dog becomes overly attached to an individual and feels the need to keep others at a distance. This behavior is typically driven by insecurity and fear rather than aggression.

Zoodles recently had an incident in which he lunged and snapped at his foster's partner. Given everything he has been through, this response is not entirely surprising and highlights the need for continued confidence-building, positive reinforcement, and thoughtful management. His adopters should be prepared to help him develop healthy attachments and build trust with all members of the household.

Is your dog playful?, Not so much yet

Does your dog like to snuggle?, yes, very much

Does your dog know basic commands? (e.g., Sit, Stay), not observed yet , but Zoodles seems to know "No"

Does your dog know any special tricks?, not observed .

Does your dog like to go on walks?, At this time, Zoodles is not comfortable being outdoors, but his fosters are steadily working on building his confidence. Currently, he is only willing to walk when heading back inside. It is important to note that Zoodles is a young dog who is physically capable of walking, running, and enjoying outdoor activities. His challenge is not physical, but rather a lack of confidence in unfamiliar outdoor environments. With patience, consistency, and positive experiences, he is expected to continue making progress and gain confidence over time.

Does your dog have any fears?, Yes, Zoodles came to us very anxious. While he feels safe and comfortable indoors, the outdoors remains very challenging for him. His fosters are working patiently to build his confidence  With time, consistency, and positive experiences, we expect him to continue making progress and become more comfortable exploring outdoors.

Does your dog have any unique traits (personality or physical)?, Zoodles is an incredibly sweet-natured little dog who asks for very little. He is quiet, calm, and content to simply be near the people he trusts.

What are the first three words that come to mind when you think of your dog?, sweet, loving, quiet

In a short paragraph, please provide any other details or a brief overview of your foster dog., Zoodles is a sweet, gentle dog who is learning that the world can be a safe place. After arriving in our care feeling overwhelmed, he has been taking things one step at a time and is making progress. Indoors, Zoodles is quiet, calm, and content to be near the people he trusts. He is not demanding and has a lovely, affectionate nature.

The outdoors is still a big challenge for him. New sights, sounds, cars, children playing, and open spaces can feel overwhelming, and he will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue building his confidence at his own pace. Despite his fears, Zoodles is a young dog who is physically capable of walking, running, and enjoying all the adventures that come with being a dog. He simply needs time, reassurance, and positive experiences to help him get there.

Because Zoodles is still learning to navigate the world around him, he would do best in a calm, predictable home environment. A quieter household with older, respectful children, or an adult-only home, would help set him up for success as he continues to gain confidence and feel secure.

For the right person, Zoodles will be an incredibly rewarding companion. Beneath his worries is a loving, sensitive little dog who has come from a very difficult situation and is working hard to trust again. All he wants is to feel safe, loved, and part of a family.
